SHOW SUMMARY: "The CUSH" is based on the youtube series (From the mind of a homeschooled Muzlem ) it is a vibrant series created by Ishmail Yadullah (from Randomishtv ) , That takes place in a universe that is parallel to our own, chronicling the college journey of Ishmael Lawrence at an HBCU marching band from 2010 to 2016. Ish, accompanied by his brother Malik and friends Derik and Destiny, navigates through the challenges of college life, encountering a colorful cast of characters including the grumpy band director Mr. Timothy Bells, mentor, and African American history professor, Mr. Johnson. As Ish explores relationships, confronts issues like hazing, sex, and death, the show blends comedy with Afro surrealism, drawing inspiration from “Strange days at Blake Holsey High” "Insecure" and "Atlanta." Set in Charlotte NC, "The CUSH" offers a unique and engaging narrative that captures the essence of the HBCU experience.
